Wenona celebrated at Assembly, welcoming Ms Susan Moylan-Coombs who shared the importance of taking personal action in Ä¢¹½´«Ã½'s reconciliation journey.

After the Acknowledgement of Country, Brooklyn Doomadgee of Year 10 introduced Ms Moylan-Coombs who highlighted the 2016 theme of 'Our History, Our Story, Our Future'. As per the :

  • 'Our History' reminds us all, that historical acceptance is essential to our reconciliation journey.
  • 'Our Story' reflects the fact that the journey towards reconciliation forms a significant part of Ä¢¹½´«Ã½'s story, as do the stories of both trauma and triumph told by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
  • 'Our Future' reinforces that reconciliation must live in the hearts, minds and actions of all Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ns as we move forward, in the knowledge we believe in fairness for everyone, that our diversity makes us richer, and that together, we are stronger.
