After selection for the Ä¢¹½´«Ã½n team following her magnificent performance at the Ä¢¹½´«Ã½n Junior Championships earlier this year, Year 11’s Brooke competed at the Oceania Championships held in Fiji during the July school holidays.

Representing Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ in green and gold, Brooke won the Under-18 Girls’ Javelin with a wonderful throw of 43.58 metres. Brooke says this was not quite her personal best, but windy conditions were tricky for competitors, and it was the best on the day.

This is an incredible win considering 22 nations and federations from the Pacific region, including Ä¢¹½´«Ã½, NZ, Papua New Guinea, Tonga, Samoa, were competing.

No wonder Brooke has just been elected Sports Prefect and Athletics Captain. Congratulations Brooke!
